The SGS 39621 is a double-end square end mill ground from solid micrograin carbide and finished with a TiCN coating for extended tool life in demanding cutting operations. It measures 3/16 inch in diameter with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. The 4-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle provides efficient chip evacuation and a stable cutting action. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the straight-cylindrical shank ensures consistent runout in standard collet or end mill holders. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
The 39621 is suited for milling operations on a range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub length configuration and double-end design make it a practical choice for tight-clearance applications and high-volume work where tool economy matters. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups.
Designed for use in standard 3/16 inch collets, ER collet chucks, or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by SGS Series 14 tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before tightening to prevent deflection. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, and confirm feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material before initiating a cut.
