The SGS 39611 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. The cutter measures 0.1094 inches (7/64 inch) in diameter with a 3/16 inch length of cut and a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Overall length is 1.5 inches, placing it in the stub length category. The micrograin carbide substrate and titanium carbonitride (TiCN) finish deliver wear resistance and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. Four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
This end mill is suited for milling, slotting, and contouring operations across a range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, stainless steel, steel, superalloys, and high-temperature materials, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The stub length profile adds rigidity in tight-clearance setups and short-reach fixtures on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Double-end construction extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends per tool.
Rated for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, and superalloys. Part of the SGS Series 14 end mill line.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual milling equipment. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a collet or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter before operation. Verify runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting. Follow all machine guarding requirements and use appropriate cutting fluid or dry-cutting practices as specified for the workpiece material.
