The SGS 39607 is a solid micrograin carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. At 0.0781 inches (5/64 inch) in diameter with a 1/8 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity in tight cutting conditions. The four-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding applications. This end mill is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole.
The SGS 39607 is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nonferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight-cylindrical 1/8 inch shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Its stub length profile reduces deflection, making it well-suited for finishing passes and detail work where dimensional accuracy is critical. Machinists working in aerospace, tool and die, mold making, and general precision machining will find this tool applicable across a broad range of operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application tool for use in standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders. Compatible with workpiece materials coded H, K, M, N, P, and S as defined in the SGS Series 14 product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Verify collet size matches the 1/8 inch shank diameter and torque the collet nut to the holder specification. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material to avoid premature tool wear or breakage.
