The SGS 39545 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. It features a 0.3594 inch cutting diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 0.375 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The two-flute spiral design runs a 30-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides toughness and rigidity at the cutting edge. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in shop environments requiring tight dimensional control.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on a wide range of materials. The primary workpiece material codes listed for this tool cover cast iron, non-ferrous metals, non-metals, steel, and superalloys (material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S). It is center-cutting and operates with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, making it compatible with standard right-hand spindle setups. The regular-length geometry fits conventional toolholders and is appropriate for general-purpose milling work where extended reach is not required.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 0.375 inch shank diameter. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, non-metals, steel, and superalloys.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle powered down and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to grip the 0.375 inch shank with adequate engagement length. Verify runout at setup using a dial indicator before cutting. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
