The SGS 39333 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of a wide range of metallic and non-metallic workpiece materials. It features a 17/64 inch (0.2656 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/4 inch length of cut, with a 30-degree right-hand helix that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The single-end geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it a direct-mount tool for standard milling chucks and collets. A TiN coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in production and job-shop environments. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in general and precision metalworking applications.
The SGS 39333 is suited for milling operations on materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and composites, as indicated by its primary workpiece material codes. Its regular-length classification and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for standard-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry when required by the application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or equivalent solid carbide square end mill for standard milling applications; compatible with any milling holder or collet system accepting a 5/16 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before tool changes. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the recommended engagement depth. Verify runout with an indicator after mounting, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and surface finish quality. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards when selecting feeds, speeds, and depths of cut for the workpiece material.
