The SGS 39313 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. It features a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) cutting diameter with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry runs at a 30-degree helix angle, providing efficient chip evacuation and clean slot or profile cuts. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish increases surface hardness and wear resistance. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. This tool is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC mills, manual knee mills, and benchtop machining centers.
The SGS 39313 is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge milling on a variety of workpiece materials. The primary workpiece material codes listed for this tool cover cast iron, non-ferrous metals, non-metals, steel, and superalloys. Its regular-length geometry and compact 1-1/2 inch overall length make it well-suited for tight-clearance features and small-bore work in production and job-shop environments alike. The micrograin carbide substrate supports use at elevated cutting speeds typical of modern CNC operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 1/8 inch collet toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines. Suitable for workpiece materials classified under codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, non-metals, steel, and superalloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing or seating the end mill in the collet. Use a properly sized 1/8 inch collet and torque the collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout after seating before initiating a cut, as micrograin carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral shock.
