The SGS 39303 is a square-end, single-end carbide end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, this tool delivers consistent cutting performance in a miniature form factor. The mill diameter measures 0.03125 inches (1/32 inch) with a 0.078125-inch (5/64 inch) length of cut, making it well-suited for fine-detail work in tight geometries. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet systems. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral fluting, it provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. Its centercutting geometry allows for plunge milling operations in addition to standard peripheral and slot milling. The 2-flute configuration is appropriate for slotting and profiling in softer to medium-hardness materials. Typical applications include mold and die work, electronics component machining, medical device manufacturing, and aerospace detail parts where tight tolerances and minimal tool deflection are critical. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as a Series 3 regular-length square end mill compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad range of cast irons, non-ferrous metals, non-metals, steel, and superalloys. Fits any spindle or collet system accepting a 1/8-inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or collet system de-energized before inserting or removing the end mill. Ensure the collet bore and shank are clean and free of chips or coolant residue before seating. At this diameter, runout control is critical — verify tool runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting pass to avoid tool breakage.
