The SGS 39151 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in CNC and manual milling operations. It carries a 13/32 inch (0.4063 inch) cutting diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 7/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The tool is finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, which increases surface hardness and wear resistance. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and variable index geometry promote chip evacuation and reduce chatter. Micrograin carbide substrate provides edge strength and dimensional stability across extended run times. This end mill is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
The SGS 39151 is appropriate for milling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, and certain non-metallic materials, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The regular-length profile and straight shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers and knee mills.
Designed as a Series 1 regular-length square end mill compatible with standard collet and end mill holder systems accepting a 7/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use on workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool builder guidelines for runout tolerance and tool overhang. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before initiating a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and replace if edge integrity is compromised.
