The SGS 39129 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. It features a 15/64 inch (0.2344 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish increases surface hardness and extends tool life. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding versatility for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. This tool is built to micrograin carbide standards for consistent edge retention and dimensional accuracy across its rated tolerance range.
This end mill is suited for use on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills in job shop, tool room, and production environments. It is commonly installed by machinists and CNC programmers working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The SGS Series 1 designation places it in a standard-length, general-purpose category. Variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, making it a practical choice for both roughing and finishing passes in compatible materials.
Rated for use with primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and similar alloys. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for any machine spindle accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Ensure the shank is seated to the full recommended grip depth in the holder and that runout is verified with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being machined.
