The SGS 39121 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers consistent edge integrity and extended tool life compared to standard carbide grades. The cutter measures 11/64 inches (0.1719 inches) in diameter with a 5/8-inch length of cut and a 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating reduces friction and improves wear resistance at the cutting edge. With four flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes efficiently. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in materials coded H, K, M, N, P, and S under standard workpiece material classifications, covering a broad range of steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The 2-inch overall length and regular-length classification make it a standard reach tool appropriate for most vertical machining center and manual milling machine setups. The variable index geometry helps reduce chatter and harmonic vibration during cuts, which is particularly useful in tight-tolerance work. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow conventional CNC toolpath direction.
Designed for use in materials classified H, K, M, N, P, and S, including various steels, cast irons, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature materials. Fits standard 3/16-inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators using appropriate collet chucks or end mill holders rated for the 3/16-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing or setting the tool. Confirm runout at the collet does not exceed the shank diameter tolerance before beginning a cut. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
