The SGS 39115 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in milling operations. It features a 0.125 inch cutting diameter, a 0.500 inch length of cut, and a 1.500 inch overall length with a 0.125 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a titanium nitride (TiN) finish, it delivers hardness and edge retention across a range of workpiece materials. The four-flute, spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting. This is a center-cutting, right-hand cut and right-hand flute end mill, making it suitable for plunge entry and standard milling paths.
The SGS 39115 is suited for shops and toolrooms running CNC mills or manual knee mills requiring tight-tolerance, small-diameter work. Its variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration during cuts, which matters in precision applications. The TiN coating extends tool life when machining ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Applicable workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering a broad range of steels, cast irons, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temp alloys. It is a standard regular-length Series 1 tool, appropriate for general-purpose milling where reach is not a constraint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling solution for standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
