The SGS 39051 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining operations. It features a 0.4063-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 0.4375-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. A TiCN coating reduces friction and extends tool life across a range of workpiece materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention required for production milling environments. This tool is single-end and center-cutting, making it suitable for plunge entry and side milling operations.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals including cast iron, aluminum, steel alloys, heat-resistant superalloys, and non-metallic materials, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. It fits standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 7/16-inch collet or toolholder. The regular-length geometry and 2.75-inch overall length make it appropriate for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and contouring where extended reach is not required.
Compatible with ISO workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. Fits any machine spindle or toolholder accepting a 0.4375-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Shank diameter tolerance is +0.00000 / -0.00035 inches for precise collet fit.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the drawbar or collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and do not exceed the manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material.
