The SGS 39041 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from micrograin carbide with a TiCN coating, it delivers extended tool life and consistent cutting performance in demanding environments. The 0.3281-inch (21/64) diameter, combined with a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral flute geometry, promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The variable index design minimizes chatter and vibration during aggressive cuts. This tool is suitable for machinists and tooling specialists working in production or job-shop environments where precision and repeatability are critical.
This end mill is well-suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, cast irons, and non-metallic materials, corresponding to workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.375-inch diameter fits standard 3/8-inch collet chucks and end mill holders. With a 1-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length, this is a regular-length tool appropriate for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations at moderate depth. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
Compatible with workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S, including tool steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, long-chipping materials, and high-temperature alloys. Designed to fit standard 3/8-inch collet chucks and end mill holders with straight-cylindrical shank tooling systems.
Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling personnel. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and verify runout before beginning a cut. Never exceed the manufacturer-recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and coating type being used.
