The SGS 39014 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of metalworking applications. It features a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) diameter cutting head with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 1/2 inch overall length of 1-1/2 inches. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. This end mill is centercutting and suited for both roughing and finishing passes. It is typically installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC or manual milling equipment.
The SGS 39014 is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Its standard length profile and 1/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with common collet systems used in vertical machining centers, CNC routers, and manual knee mills. The small diameter and ball-nose geometry make it well suited for contouring, profiling, and finishing work in tight features, cavities, and 3D surface milling. It is a single-end design with a micrograin carbide substrate that supports tight tolerances and consistent dimensional accuracy across production runs.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and other common toolholding systems used in CNC and manual milling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or toolholder to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer's guidelines, and verify runout before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
