The SGS 39003 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) mill diameter and a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work and tight-tolerance applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting performance. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive materials. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating CNC machining centers or manual mills.
The SGS 39003 is suited for milling operations on a broad range of workpiece materials, including cast irons, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, heat-resistant alloys, and various non-metallic materials, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its centercutting capability allows it to plunge directly into the workpiece, making it viable for slot milling, pocket milling, and profiling passes. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 1/8 inch diameter fits standard collet chucks used on benchtop and full-size machining centers. The regular-length classification and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-mid-depth features where rigidity is critical at this diameter.

This end mill is installed by a machinist or toolroom professional using a precision collet chuck sized for the 1/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Collet and toolholder runout should be minimized to protect tool life at this small diameter. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for feed rates and speeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
