The SGS 38203 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. The 38203 features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius that helps reduce chipping at the cutting edge and extend tool life in demanding applications. With 2 flutes, a 30-degree medium helix, and a long-length configuration, this end mill delivers efficient material removal in a single-end, right-hand cutting geometry. The micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity needed for hard materials and high-precision work. It is sized for use in standard end mill holders with a straight-cylindrical shank.
The SGS 38203 is suited for metalworking operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, tool and die, and production environments. Its corner radius geometry makes it appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes where sharp internal corners must be avoided to reduce stress concentration. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium, as well as hard materials as a secondary application. The coarse pitch and long length of cut support both roughing and detailed profiling work across this broad material range.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the flute length, and apply cutting fluid or coolant as appropriate for the workpiece material to manage heat buildup. Inspect the corner radius for wear or chipping regularly, as micrograin carbide tools can fracture under excessive lateral load if feeds and speeds are not dialed in for the material.
