The SGS 38047 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built on the Series 01C platform, this single-end tool features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.02 inch corner radius, and 4 helical flutes with a medium helix angle and variable index geometry. The Weldon flat shank and uncoated micrograin carbide construction make it suitable for both roughing and finishing passes across a broad range of workpiece materials. A licensed machinist or CNC mill operator is the typical end user for this class of tooling.
The 38047 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting-capable geometry and 1 inch length of cut make it appropriate for slot milling, profiling, and stepped-shoulder work in production and job-shop environments. The 2.5 inch overall length provides adequate reach for standard-depth work without sacrificing rigidity. It is intended for use with end mill holders.
Designed for use with end mill holders. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Follows Series 01C specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the end mill holder and tighten the set screw to the holder manufacturer's specified engagement. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
