The SGS 38025 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.045 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life. With 4 helical flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding machining environments. It is single-end, straight-shank, and compatible with standard end mill holders.
The SGS 38025 is built for machinists working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It performs well in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 2.5 inch overall length and 1/4 inch shank diameter fit standard end mill holders commonly used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The uncoated bright finish makes it a versatile baseline tooling option where coated grades are not required or where regrinding is anticipated.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece materials including Steel, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Non-Ferrous Metal, Superalloys, Titanium, and Hard Material per SGS Series 01C application guidelines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the end mill holder and torque the set screw or collet to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate corner radius wear and reduce surface finish quality.
