Product Description

The SGS 37344 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and 5 helical flutes with a high helix angle of 37 degrees. The cutting edge is TiN coated for extended tool life and wear resistance. At 3 inches overall length with a 1.25 inch length of cut, this single-end tool is sized for short-reach roughing and finishing passes. It is suited for use in CNC machining centers with standard end mill holders.

The SGS 37344 is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as hard materials. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, making it well suited for high-speed side milling, slotting, and profiling operations where edge chipping is a concern. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC setups. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during extended cuts.

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Secure the shank in a compatible end mill holder, observing the straight-cylindrical shank diameter tolerance of h6 for proper fit and runout control. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and compatible with the machine spindle before use. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
