The SGS 37160 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding machining applications. It features a 7/16-inch mill diameter with a 0.015-inch corner radius, five helical flutes, and a TiN coating that promotes surface hardness and wear resistance. The single-end tool measures 2.5 inches in overall length with a 7/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The high helix angle and variable index geometry support both roughing and finishing operations, reducing chatter and improving chip evacuation in difficult workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual milling operations where close-tolerance profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling are required. It is built for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry are standard for conventional end mill holder setups. It is compatible with standard end mill holders and is appropriate for shops running production runs or precision one-off parts in tool and die, aerospace, and general metalworking environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece material is hard material. Part of the SGS Z5C series.
Install and remove end mills only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and the machine is powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended engagement depth for the holder type in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. This tool is not centercutting and should not be plunged directly into solid material.
