The SGS 36860 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 9/16 inch (0.5625 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and a 4-flute spiral geometry with variable helix and variable index to reduce chatter and improve surface finish. The TX coating provides enhanced wear resistance for extended tool life. At 3-1/2 inches overall length with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
The SGS 36860 is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The short flute length and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill toolholders. Its right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines. The ZPCR series designation identifies it as a corner radius tool optimized for high-feed profiling, contouring, and pocketing in difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece material category is hard material. Shank diameter tolerance is h6 for precise toolholder fit.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using standard end mill toolholders on CNC or manual milling machines. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked before tool changes. Confirm the shank is fully seated and the toolholder is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; external coolant or air blast is recommended for chip evacuation when cutting superalloys or hard materials.
