The SGS 36786 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the ZD1C series platform, this single-end tool features a 1/2-inch cutting diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a 0.04-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in interrupted cuts. The AlTiN (TX) coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures. With variable index and variable helix geometry, the tool actively suppresses chatter and improves surface finish during both roughing and finishing passes. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank.

This end mill is suited for machining cast iron, hard materials, and steel in CNC milling centers using standard end mill toolholders. The extended reach design, with a 1.26-inch reach length and 0.485-inch neck diameter, allows access to features requiring clearance below the shank diameter. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. It is appropriate for short-reach roughing and finishing operations where chatter control and edge durability are priorities.
