The SGS 36725 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and four flutes arranged in a variable helix configuration that reduces harmonic vibration and improves surface finish. The overall length is 2.5 inches with a 7/8 inch length of cut and a 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. A TiN coating helps extend tool life in abrasive applications. This end mill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals for roughing and finishing operations on ferrous and hard materials.
The SGS 36725 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as hard secondary materials. Its single-end, right-hand cutting and flute direction make it compatible with standard end mill toolholders used on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The variable index geometry and micrograin carbide substrate support consistent material removal across both roughing and finishing passes. The centercutting designation in the raw data conflicts with the attribute sheet, which lists centercutting as No, so plunge milling should not be assumed without verification.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary application covers hard materials. Part of the SGS Z-Carb-AP ZPCR series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Verify shank diameter tolerance class h6 is compatible with the collet or toolholder before mounting. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm correct cutting direction and RPM per material type before engaging the workpiece.
