The SGS 36636 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. It features an 11-flute, super close pitch geometry with a 0.03 inch corner radius, a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, and a 1-5/8 inch length of cut. The AlTiN (TX) coating provides elevated heat resistance and wear protection suited for dry and high-speed machining. With a 4 inch overall length and a straight-cylindrical 3/4 inch shank, this tool is built for use in standard end mill toolholders on CNC milling centers. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job shop environments.
This end mill is engineered for finishing cuts on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, as well as hard materials. The 11-flute super close pitch configuration reduces chip load per tooth, enabling higher feed rates and superior surface finish on difficult-to-machine alloys. The SGS Series 66C geometry and medium helix angle make it well suited for side milling, slotting, and profiling operations where corner integrity and tight tolerances are required. It is a single-end, right-hand cut tool with right-hand flute direction.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece material classification is hard material. UNSPSC Code: 27112803.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists using CNC milling equipment and compatible end mill toolholders. Before changing tooling, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion axes are locked out per shop safety procedures. Verify shank diameter and toolholder bore compatibility before clamping; the h6 shank tolerance is intended for precision collet or hydraulic toolholders. Do not exceed the rated length of cut depth during finishing passes, and confirm runout after installation to protect corner radius integrity.
