The SGS 36611 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Measuring 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut and a 0.06-inch corner radius, this single-end tool belongs to the SGS Z-Carb-AP ZPCR series. The variable helix geometry and micrograin carbide substrate reduce chatter and extend tool life in both roughing and finishing passes. A TiN coating provides surface hardness and thermal resistance. The Weldon flat shank is compatible with standard end mill holders for secure, repeatable positioning in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where steel alloys and hard materials are the primary workpiece. The 4-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with surface finish capability, making it a practical choice for side milling, slotting, and profiling operations. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand helical flutes are standard. The centercutting designation from supplier data notes no centercutting, so this tool is not intended for direct plunge entry. It is intended for use in end mill holders as specified by the manufacturer.
Designed for use with end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary application covers hard materials. Part of the SGS Z-Carb-AP ZPCR series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the Weldon flat shank fully within the holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before tightening set screws. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting to confirm proper seating before initiating a cut.
