The SGS 36574 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.0300 inch corner radius and a 1 inch length of cut, finished with an AlTiN (Ti-NAMITE-A) coating for heat resistance and extended tool life under aggressive cutting conditions. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration during cut, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. At 3 inches overall length with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it seats directly in standard end mill toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators use this tool for both roughing and finishing passes on difficult-to-machine workpiece materials.
The SGS 36574 is suited for short-reach milling applications in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments. Its short flute geometry and micrograin carbide substrate make it appropriate for high-speed machining centers running steel, stainless, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration fits conventional vertical and horizontal machining center setups. It is part of the SGS Z-Carb-HTA ZH1CR series, which targets demanding roughing and finishing cycles where tool stability and coating performance are critical.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Part of the SGS Z-Carb-HTA ZH1CR series. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium; secondary workpiece material is hard material.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using standard end mill toolholders with a 1/2 inch bore. Confirm shank seating depth and runout before beginning a cut, as shank diameter tolerance is rated to h6. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or axial engagement for the workpiece material being machined.
