The SGS 36535 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal cutting in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.5625 inch (9/16 inch) cutting diameter with a 1.125 inch length of cut and a 3.5 inch overall length. The four-flute, spiral-flute geometry with variable helix and variable index reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and wear resistance. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
The SGS 36535 is suited for milling a broad range of workpiece materials including high-temperature alloys, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, carbon and alloy steels, and stainless steels, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The Weldon flat shank provides a secure, positive drive in standard end mill holders and set-screw tool holders. It is appropriate for slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The regular-length designation makes it a standard reach application tool where rigidity is prioritized.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders and Weldon-style tool holders accepting a 0.5625 inch shank diameter. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, P, and S as classified by the input data. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills with appropriate spindle speeds and feeds for carbide tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw fully before tightening to prevent axial pull-out during cutting. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for runout tolerance, stick-out length, and appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
