The SGS 36442 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with a straight-cylindrical 3/4 inch shank. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in dry or high-speed cutting conditions. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonics and chatter, making it well suited for aggressive material removal and finishing passes in difficult-to-machine alloys.

This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S indicate suitability for hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys. The Series Z1 designation places it in SGS Tool Company's high-performance milling line. It is a single-end, non-centercutting tool and is not recommended for plunge cutting without a pilot hole or ramping entry strategy.

Installation Notes
