The SGS 36426 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the Series Z1 platform, it features a variable helix and variable index geometry that reduce chatter and improve surface finish at aggressive feed rates. The 13/32-inch (0.4063 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 15/16-inch length of cut and a 7/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. An AlTiN finish provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and is installed and operated by machinists and tooling professionals.
The SGS 36426 is rated for workpiece materials across multiple material groups, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, and superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S. It is configured as a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a spiral flute geometry. The regular-length profile and 2-3/4-inch overall length make it well suited for general-purpose milling operations where a compact, rigid tool is required. It is not configured for extended reach applications.
Designed for use with workpiece materials in categories H, K, M, P, and S, including hardened steels, cast irons, non-ferrous alloys, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys. Compatible with standard straight-bore tool holders accepting a 7/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 7/16-inch shank diameter to ensure concentricity and minimize runout. Verify shank seating depth and clamping torque per the tool holder manufacturer specifications before operation. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge entry into solid material.
