The SGS 36346 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding machining environments. With a 0.375-inch mill diameter, a 0.875-inch length of cut, and four flutes in a variable helix configuration, this tool delivers smooth material removal and reduced chatter during finish passes. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life when machining hard and abrasive workpiece materials. It is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC mills and machining centers where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required.
This end mill is suited for finishing cuts in materials classified under workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The Z1B series designation indicates micrograin carbide substrate and regular-length geometry, making this a practical choice for shops running production finishing work on difficult materials.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.375-inch straight shank. Suitable for finishing operations on workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Secure the 0.375-inch shank in a compatible collet chuck or end mill holder, ensuring the holder is rated for the tool diameter and the runout is within acceptable limits for finish milling. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and coating type, as overloading a carbide end mill can cause sudden tool fracture.
