The SGS 36141 is a 6-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It carries a 5/16 inch cutting diameter with a matching 5/16 inch shank diameter, a 11/16 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long length category. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. A 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It is used by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
The SGS 36141 Series 57 end mill suits finish and semi-finish milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials where heat generation and tool deflection are primary concerns. The extra-long overall length provides reach for deep-pocket and tall-workpiece applications. Right-hand cut with right-hand spiral flutes makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional CNC machining centers. The solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity needed for tight-tolerance work. This tool is appropriate for production shops, toolrooms, and job shops running steel, stainless, and similar hard-to-machine alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in standard 5/16 inch collet or end mill holders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers requiring a right-hand cut, right-hand flute, square-end geometry.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the tool and holder for runout before committing to a production cut. Always confirm spindle direction and programmed feed and speed parameters before engaging the workpiece.
