The SGS 36114 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling in hardened and abrasive materials. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and three spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and exotic alloy applications. With a 7/8 inch length of cut and 3/8 inch shank diameter, this end mill is designed for rigid setups in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. Belongs to the SGS Series 61 family of coated carbide end mills.
The SGS 36114 suits regular-length milling operations in tool rooms, production shops, and job shops working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The coarse pitch flute geometry and right-hand cutting and flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. The 2.5 inch overall length keeps the tool compact for stable, low-deflection cuts in shallow-to-mid-depth pockets, slots, and profiles. Machinists and CNC programmers working with tight corner tolerances will benefit from the consistent 0.06 inch radius geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch collet or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before tooling changes. Do not exceed the tool's recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material, as solid carbide end mills are brittle under excessive lateral load or chatter.
