The SGS 35708 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.5 inch diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The single-end design runs right-hand cutting with a right-hand helical flute, a coarse pitch, and a high helix angle of 38 degrees. A Ti-NAMITE-B TiB2 coating reduces friction and built-up edge in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The SGS 35708 Series 43CR long-length end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and roughing operations in non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. The 4 inch overall length and 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill holders. The extended reach geometry is well suited for deep-pocket and cavity work where a standard-length tool would not reach. This tool is used in production shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and precision fabrication environments where consistent corner geometry is critical.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (material code N), including aluminum and similar alloys. Belongs to SGS Series 43CR long-length corner radius end mill family.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, undamaged end mill holder and torque the retention screw to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates corner radius wear. Follow the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece alloy and do not exceed the rated depth of cut for roughing passes.
