The SGS 35693 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.01 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The tool carries a TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating, which improves hardness and wear resistance in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. With 3 helical flutes and a coarse pitch geometry, it is configured for roughing operations that require efficient chip evacuation. Machinists and CNC tool-and-die operators are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where non-ferrous workpiece materials are being machined. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard end mill holders. The short flute length and 3-inch overall length make it suited to setups requiring a rigid, compact tool with minimal overhang. It is categorized under the SGS Series 43CR and is specified for roughing material removal in production and job-shop environments. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional milling setups.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accommodating a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metal (Material Application Code: N), including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Part of the SGS Series 43CR product family.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the end mill holder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the tool. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper seating before initiating a cut.
