The SGS 35669 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Part of the SGS Series 43CR, it features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating improves surface hardness and reduces built-up edge on aluminum and other non-ferrous workpieces. With 3 right-hand helical flutes at a high helix angle of 38 degrees and a coarse pitch, this end mill is configured for roughing material removal. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Installed in end mill holders by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations on non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and profiling in a single setup. The 3-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with rigidity, making it appropriate for high-speed milling where chip load and surface finish on non-ferrous substrates are priorities. It is intended for use with standard end mill holders and is not recommended for ferrous or hardened steel applications given its TiB2 coating and non-ferrous material designation.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (material code N). Not intended for ferrous or hardened workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by machinists using standard end mill holders on CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw or collet to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning any cutting pass.
