The SGS 35626 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 5/8 inch cutting diameter and a 0.12 inch corner radius, it produces smooth, radiused edges while reducing stress concentrations at the cutting corner. The 3-flute, right-hand helical geometry is configured for coarse-pitch roughing cuts. At 3.75 inches overall length with a 1.625 inch length of cut, this single-end tool fits standard end mill holders with a straight cylindrical 5/8 inch shank. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and tool-and-die professionals working with aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials will find this tool well-suited to production and job shop environments.
The 35626 is intended for use in non-ferrous metal machining, including aluminum alloys, copper, and brass. The high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, which is especially important when cutting softer, gummier non-ferrous materials. The uncoated bright finish is appropriate for these applications, as coatings optimized for ferrous materials can cause built-up edge in non-ferrous cutting. This tool fits end mill holders and is compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where the spindle accepts a 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed for use with end mill holders accepting a 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal, including aluminum, copper, and brass alloys. Part of the SGS Series 43CR product family.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state per OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw or collet nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before mounting. Do not use this tool on ferrous or hardened materials outside its rated material application.
