The SGS 35514 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter and a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The tool carries a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating for improved wear resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With four flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and a consistent finish. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces. It belongs to SGS Series 54 and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
The SGS 35514 is appropriate for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials in both manual and CNC machining setups. Its right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling passes. The 3/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling. With a 4 inch overall length, it offers adequate reach for most general-purpose milling tasks without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use with standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and shrink-fit toolholders in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is installed by machinists using appropriate toolholding equipment such as collet chucks or end mill holders rated for the 3/4 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the tool to maintain runout tolerances. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Verify tool projection and stick-out before running the first cut, as excessive overhang reduces rigidity and accelerates wear.
