The SGS 35506 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. With a 0.250 inch mill diameter, a 0.750 inch length of cut, and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) finish, this tool delivers consistent performance in demanding shop environments. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into a workpiece. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool in production and job-shop settings.
The SGS 35506 is suited for milling operations on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials coded as Group N workpiece materials. With a 0.250 inch straight-cylindrical shank and a 2.500 inch overall length, it fits standard toolholders and collet chucks commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. Its regular-length classification makes it appropriate for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling tasks where rigidity and accuracy are priorities.
Designed as a Series 54 solid carbide square end mill for use with standard 1/4 inch collets and toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Optimized for non-ferrous metal (Group N) primary workpiece materials.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine control in a safe state. Use a properly sized collet or toolholder that matches the 0.250 inch shank diameter to avoid runout. Verify tool projection and reach before initiating a cut. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for recommended speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
