The SGS 35481 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in non-ferrous materials. With a 0.250 inch mill diameter, a 0.750 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral configuration, this Series 54 tool delivers clean, accurate cuts in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry, combined with a 30-degree helix angle, promote efficient chip evacuation and reduced chatter. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. Installed by machinists and toolroom operators in CNC milling and manual mill environments.
This end mill suits light-to-medium material removal and finish milling on non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop settings. The regular-length designation and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling vises. The uncoated solid carbide construction maintains edge sharpness and dimensional tolerance through extended runs on softer workpiece materials where coating adhesion or heat buildup is less of a concern.
Designed for use on non-ferrous metals (material code N) in standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with collet or end mill holder systems accepting a 0.250 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and verify runout before engaging the workpiece. Follow machine manufacturer torque specifications for drawbar and collet nut tightening.
