The SGS 35306 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 0.75-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length with a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design operates at a 30-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and clean cutting action. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving the tool versatility across slotting, profiling, and plunge milling operations. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 35306 is suited for milling non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials where the N-class workpiece designation applies. Its regular-length body and standard 0.25-inch shank make it compatible with common collet systems and end mill holders found on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The Series 52 classification designates it as part of SGS's standard square end mill line for general-purpose non-ferrous applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 0.25-inch collet chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders used on CNC and manual milling machines requiring a 0.25-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and at a complete stop before inserting or removing the end mill from its holder. Verify collet or holder bore size matches the 0.25-inch shank diameter before clamping; an improperly sized holder can cause runout or tool pull-out under load. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being used.
