The SGS 35101 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and six spiral flutes with a 41-degree helix angle. The variable index flute geometry reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and tool life. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter, and overall length is 2.5 inches. This end mill is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
The SGS 35101 is suited for milling operations on a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including high-temperature alloys, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and titanium-group materials, as reflected by its primary material codes H, K, M, P, and S. Its regular-length profile and rigid six-flute construction make it well-matched to finishing passes and medium-depth slotting or profiling cuts in both vertical machining centers and manual mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, P, and S per the SGS Series 51 designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the tool holder. Use a calibrated torque wrench and appropriate collet or end mill holder sized for a 3/8-inch shank to achieve proper clamping force. Inspect the shank and cutting edges for damage before each use; do not run a chipped or deflected tool.
