The SGS 34858 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. With a 3/16 inch mill diameter and a 3/4 inch length of cut, this tool delivers accurate, repeatable results in tight-tolerance applications. A TiB2 (titanium diboride) finish reduces friction and extends tool life in demanding cuts. The 38-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the three-flute configuration balances material removal rate with surface finish quality. Centercutting capability allows for direct plunge entry into the workpiece. This end mill is sold individually and suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The SGS 34858 is well suited for milling operations on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, copper, and brass alloys. Its regular-length, straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet and end mill holder systems. The 2-1/2 inch overall length makes it appropriate for general-purpose profiling, slotting, and contour milling where deep reach is not required. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shop and production environments will find this tool appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes on non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (Material Code N).
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine placed in an energy-isolated state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and cut depth. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use.
