The SGS 34828 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-accuracy milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The three-flute geometry with a 38-degree helix angle supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Built from solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance suited for production environments. The straight cylindrical shank at 3/8 inch diameter mounts directly in standard collets and end mill holders. This is a centercutting tool, enabling direct plunge entry into workpiece material.
The SGS 34828 is intended for milling non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials designated under primary workpiece material code N. Its spiral flute, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with conventional CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The regular-length classification and uncoated finish suit standard roughing and finishing passes where coating is not required. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace shops, and production facilities will find this tool well-suited to slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in non-ferrous applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation end mill for standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (material code N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from any holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended gauge line depth in the collet or holder and that all retention hardware is torqued per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece.
