The SGS 34787 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 3/4-inch mill diameter and a 0.09-inch corner radius, it produces radiused inside corners that reduce stress concentration and improve part surface finish. The three-flute, right-hand helical design with a coarse pitch is optimized for roughing operations. Overall length is 4 inches with a 1-5/8-inch length of cut. This is a single-end, straight-cylindrical shank tool intended for use in standard end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes on non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar alloys. The uncoated bright finish is well matched to non-ferrous work where coating adhesion or heat buildup from ferrous cutting is not a concern. The 38-degree high helix promotes chip evacuation in softer, gummier materials, reducing built-up edge and helping maintain dimensional accuracy over extended production runs. It is typically applied in job shop and production environments where consistent corner geometry is required across multiple parts.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Intended for primary use in non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (material code N). Part of the SGS Series 43CR corner radius end mill lineup.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or quill is secured before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm shank diameter tolerance matches the holder bore specification before clamping. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material, as this is a roughing-geometry tool and is not designed for fine finishing passes without parameter adjustment.
