The SGS 34772 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. Built from solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for consistent performance in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The cutter measures 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) in diameter with a 0.0100 inch corner radius and runs a 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration at a 38-degree high helix angle. The high helix geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup, both critical factors when machining non-ferrous workpieces. This tool ships bright and uncoated, ready for direct use in standard end mill toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators use this mill in production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances on contoured features are required.
The SGS 34772 is suited for finish and roughing passes on non-ferrous metal components in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 9/16 inch length of cut accommodates moderate-depth pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations. Its straight-cylindrical shank (3/16 inch diameter, h6 tolerance) seats securely in collet chucks and standard end mill holders. This tool is part of SGS Series 43CR, a line developed for corner radius applications where edge blending and contour control are priorities. It is not center-cutting, so plunge entries require a pre-drilled start hole or ramping strategy.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Part of the SGS Series 43CR corner radius end mill line. Intended for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, avoid direct plunge entries — use a ramping or helical interpolation entry strategy instead.
