The SGS 34647 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length with a straight cylindrical 3/4 inch shank. The two-flute geometry and 35-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and clean finishes in aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. This is a centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge operations as well as peripheral and slot milling. It is uncoated and runs in a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this series when dimensional accuracy and surface quality are the priority.
The SGS 34647 is suited for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills working in production and job-shop environments. Its extended reach of 3-3/8 inches makes it appropriate for applications requiring access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. The regular-length classification and spiral flute design support consistent performance in slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on non-ferrous stock. It ships as a single-piece unit and is intended for direct installation into standard collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 3/4 inch shank.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Intended for use in non-ferrous metal applications per SGS Series 47E specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using a standard collet chuck or end mill holder rated for 3/4 inch shank tooling. Confirm that the spindle and holder are clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for runout tolerances and pull-out force to prevent tool ejection during operation.
