The SGS 34620 is a square end mill designed for precision material removal in light machining and finishing operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it offers the rigidity and edge retention needed for consistent cuts in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. The tool features a 1/8 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 35-degree helix angle that promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a straight-cylindrical 1/8 inch shank, it fits standard collet toolholders. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC operators working in production or tool-room environments.
The SGS 34620 Series 47 end mill is suited for operations on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. Its bright, uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for applications where coating adhesion to the workpiece is a concern. The regular-length geometry and single-end configuration make it a straightforward drop-in for standard milling setups requiring a small-diameter tool with reliable runout tolerances.
Designed as a replacement or stock tooling option for standard 1/8 inch collet toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines handling non-ferrous metal workpieces.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered off and spindle locked. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout after installation using a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow applicable machine tool safety standards and shop procedures when handling carbide tooling.
