The SGS 34503 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in metalworking and machining applications. Built to Series 44 specifications, it features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 3/8-inch shank diameter with a Weldon flat for secure tool holding. The 45-degree helix angle and two-flute spiral configuration promote efficient chip evacuation, making this end mill well suited for non-ferrous metal cutting operations. The centercutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry into workpieces. Installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool setup technicians, this uncoated carbide tool offers dimensional consistency with tight diameter tolerances.
The SGS 34503 is intended for use on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Its stub length classification and 3-1/16-inch overall length make it appropriate for applications requiring a compact tool profile with reduced overhang. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups. The Weldon flat shank accommodates side-lock tool holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for milling applications involving non-ferrous metals, compatible with standard side-lock and collet-style tool holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians familiar with end mill tool holding practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify that the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the Weldon flat shank, and torque the set screw to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning any cutting operation.
