The SGS 33453 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut (LOC), and a 0.02 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the tool tip and extends tool life in demanding applications. The 3-flute geometry with a 38-degree right-hand helix provides efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. A TiB2 (titanium diboride) coating improves hardness and lubricity, making this tool well-suited for high-speed machining environments. It is centercutting and capable of plunge cutting operations.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling are required. The coarse pitch and spiral flute configuration perform reliably in aluminum, steel, and other common shop materials. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders common in production and job-shop environments. It belongs to the SGS Series 43 family of end mills, which are configured for general-purpose to high-performance cutting applications. Machinists and CNC programmers specify this tool where a small corner radius is required to protect part geometry and reduce chipping.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for 1/4 inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Part of the SGS Series 43 end mill line.
This tool is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to prevent premature tool wear or part damage.
