The SGS 33328 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built to Series 3ELB extra-long specifications, it features a 0.375 inch diameter with a 1.75 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length, giving it the reach needed for deep-cavity and contour milling work. The 2-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and edge retention required for demanding cutting conditions. This end mill is suited for machinists and tooling professionals working in production or job shop environments.
The SGS 33328 is appropriate for milling a broad range of materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and steel workpieces, as indicated by its primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The extra-long length of cut makes it well suited for deep-pocket milling, 3D contouring, and profiling operations where standard-length end mills cannot reach. It installs in a standard 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder and is used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC and manual milling machines. Compatible with workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer for Series 3ELB tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use; carbide end mills are brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to lateral impact.
